Dr. Bakali Blessings Mukasa
Dr. Bakali Mukasa is a Ugandan entrepreneur, public health expert and business leader committed to building sustainable enterprises that contribute to economic transformation. Over more than 16 years, his entrepreneurial experience has spanned agriculture, real estate, financial services and transportation in Uganda and internationally.
He holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Procurement and Supply Chain Management from Makerere University, a Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration, and a PhD in Public Health Policy from the United States. His professional background includes work with the World Health Organization (WHO) and an academic career teaching public health at universities in the United States.
Raised in a farming family, Dr. Mukasa developed an early appreciation of both the potential and structural constraints of agriculture. That experience shaped his conviction that commercially organized farming, strong value chains and reliable access to markets can make agriculture a powerful driver of Africa’s economic growth.
Today, that vision is reflected in his leadership of Curated Holdings International’s commercial horticulture platform in Luweero and Wakiso, including large-scale Hass avocado production and a broader farm footprint exceeding 110 acres. His work extends beyond production to strengthening agricultural systems, expanding export market access, structuring scalable agribusiness growth and integrating smallholder farmers into formal value chains.
Dr. Mukasa is particularly interested in partnerships with governments, development institutions, international buyers and private investors that can unlock capital, strengthen agricultural infrastructure and accelerate Uganda’s competitiveness in global horticultural markets. As a Board Member of HortiFresh Association Uganda, he also contributes to sector-wide efforts to strengthen quality standards, market access, investment and export competitiveness.
